Term 3 2025 - Week 7
Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Carers,
There have been numerous events in the last few weeks. Unfortunately, staff absences impacted our recent newsletter updates - we apologise for this inconvenience.
Our Book Parade and Grandparents Day was a wonderful success, with Coolah Preschool joining us alongside many parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends. We are not sure who enjoyed dressing up more - the children or the staff!
Stage 2 had a fabulous time last week on their Lake Keepit excursion. Mrs James and I were so proud of the children for their bravery and willingness to ‘have a go’ at all the activities.
The All Hallows Catholic Primary School, Gulgong production of The Amazing Race is a feature this week. No doubt it will inspire staff and students for future performances at Sacred Heart.
We also look forward to celebrating the special men in our lives this Friday at 8 a.m. for our Father’s Day Breakfast.
A special thanks to our committed P&F members, who work tirelessly to ensure we have an active presence in our community to support our fantastic school.
Working Together Through Feedback
As your school principal, I truly believe in the value of feedback - not only for our students as they learn and grow, but also for myself and our staff as we continue to reflect, adapt, and improve.
Your insights help shape how we communicate, support learning, and run our school. Whether your feedback relates to teaching, administration, or school processes, it is both welcomed and appreciated.
✅ The most helpful feedback is:
- Kind – shared respectfully and constructively
- Clear – focused on specific areas
- Solution-focused – offering suggestions or alternatives where possible
If a concern feels serious or more complex, I encourage you to make an appointment with me directly. This allows us to work through the matter calmly and constructively, ensuring the best outcomes for everyone involved.
As a school community, let’s continue to communicate with empathy and respect — always striving to treat others how we would like to be treated.
Thank you for partnering with us - for every child, every day.
Kind regards,
Sarah-Jane Canham
Reminder
For the safety and wellbeing of all students, we kindly ask that children do not arrive at school before 8:30am, as teacher supervision begins at this time. Thank you for your understanding and support in helping us keep our students safe.

Massive Congratulations to Rex Thomas and our Relay Team
On Friday, 22nd August, four of our Sacred Heart students travelled to Dubbo for the Diocesan Athletics Carnival. Our relay team – Rex, Isabella, Summer and Riley – gave it their all and ran brilliantly against senior primary students. While they didn’t progress to Polding, they made us incredibly proud with their determination and effort.
A special congratulations to Rex, who stormed home to win the 1500m! He will now represent Sacred Heart and the Bathurst Diocese at Polding in Newcastle on September 12.
We are so proud of all four athletes. Best of luck to Rex as he takes on the next level!
